DR. SHIPHRAH KURIA-NDIRITU
TECHNICAL LEAD

Shiphrah Kuria is a seasoned public health expert, obstetrician, and gynecologist . She has worked across various countries in Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia, leading efforts to strengthen health systems, integrate gender-sensitive approaches, and advocate for policy reforms.
Dr. Shiphrah is a seasoned trainer and mentor of health care workers as well as experienced in developing training materials including curriculums. As a global master trainer, she has collaborated with American Pediatric Academy (AAP)in updating of the Essential Newborn Care Curriculum and in training and mentoring trainers of trainers Master trainer of Specialized New-born Care Curriculum. She has successfully led the development of emergency obstetrics care (BeMONC and CeMONC) training package and many RMNCAH policy guidelines.
Dr. Shiphrah has also collaborated with USAID, WHO and other experts in reviewing of the High Impact Practices in Family Planning (HIP). She has also contributed to the public health field through research, conducting evaluations and doing publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Kuria holds advanced degrees in public health and obstetrics and gynecology, including a Doctor of Public Health from Walden University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Nairobi. In addition to her leadership roles, she is a mentor and educator, serving as an adjunct faculty member at AMREF International University, where she teaches and supervises students in adolescent sexual and reproductive health research.
